Known worldwide for its uncompromising line of smaller, lighter, quieter and more efficient water-cooled marine generators, Fischer Panda can also provide custom generator solutions for super/mega yacht customers. "Though we're typically known as a solution-- and in some cases the only solution-- for generators for the sail and smaller powerboat market, we want to emphasize that large boat builders and owners should also consider us," said Chad Godwin, Director of Sales for Fischer Panda Generators U.S. According to Godwin, the company-- which offers a standard line of generators ranging from 4 kW to 22 kW-- now has a custom-built solution for those customers needing more punch. Customized Fischer Panda generators are now available up to 200 kW, easily meeting the needs of some the largest yachts afloat. In one instance, Fischer Panda's engineers have produced a 55 kW marine powered by a MTU diesel engine that runs at 1800 rpm. In another case, a 30 kW marine unit is powered by a Yanmar diesel that runs at 3600 rpm. "This is really a case of the little generator that could," said Godwin. "In the 55 kW installation, we saved the client 20% in weight, 20% in size and 40% in noise reduction. The percentages were even greater in the case of the 30 kW marine unit." The company's large units come in stainless steel sound shields, which can be additionally sound-proofed to suit the customer's requirement. To allow for easy access for normal maintenance, the stainless steel panels have a simple latching system. This system makes access to a specific area, or the entire generator, a quick and easy operation. --more-- As another custom application, Fischer Panda can provide PTO installations for hydraulic drive systems and other uses, according to Godwin.
